I am beginning to come up with a few buckle down ideas… just trying to prepare myself for the surely inevitable…
Idea number one, you ask? Well, the biggest expense I have other than housing is my car. SO, I think I will say goodbye to it. If I NEED to drive a billion miles to anywhere, I can always rent a car. Need a car in town? Borrow one. Most everything I need is within a four or five block radius… This could save me up to $450 a month (with gas costs, repair costs, insurance costs, registration costs, AND the car payment)… the only downside is that I would need to limit myself to jobs within a reasonable bus distance… which shouldn’t be too hard — since I won’t have to make quite as much as before…
Idea number two? This is the hard one. I love having a blackberry — instant email, etc… that little gizmo will be axed by next week — and I will get a new plan (with VERY few minutes, but unlimited texts — as is my predilection lately these last few years).
Two simple things could end up saving me $500 a month…
This’ll take a little bit of figuring out…
